moving people through and out of poverty

Hope to Thrive is a non-profit inspiring hope for individuals, families, and communities to thrive in complete health and wellbeing. We do this by strengthening and coordinating faith networks, food chain pathways, health care systems, and offering innovative opportunities for positive creativity and transformation.

Hope to Thrive engages people within these networks individually beginning with their own process of understanding, but not without considering the larger context, such as the oppressive systematic barriers imposed in our rural and urban communities. Through engaging individuals as part of systems, Hope to Thrive acknowledges that there are cultural behaviors based on trauma (related to the different systems such as access to healthcare and healthy food) that manifests in poor health outcomes from diabetes to depression to the contraction of sexually transmitted diseases/infections.

Hope to Thrive addresses the outcomes with a focus on meaningful activities, such as community dialogues. These dialogues allow people to explore their own beliefs, learn from others, and gain clarity over topics that are hard to discuss or taboo, and creates opportunities for people to enter into spaces in which open and honest engagement is allowed.

Holistic produce pantry

Every week the Holistic Produce Pantry provides families with a box of nutritious fresh produce.

Operating out of Grace Presbyterian Church, the pantry is serving over 50 families in the Winston-Salem community. It is our mission to provide everyone facing food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic with healthy meals.

We do a weekly pickup at Grace Presbyterian Church. If you would like to sign up for the program, volunteer, or are just curious, please click the box below for information about our pantry.

This core holy people will not do wrong.  They won’t lie, won’t use words to flatter or seduce.  Content with who they are and where they are, unanxious, they’ll live at peace
